Must have been a real joy for those who got to listen to this the first time, i'm not entirely sureof the original date but as it comes from ww2 christmas radio and Ginger announces that its coming from the good old USA i'm guessing it must come from either christmas 1939 or christmas 1940

Happy Advent

Hope everyone's enjoying that lovely holiday buildup and recovered from Thanksgiving! Almighty stress here from dissertation proposal, if i could have written it on Ginger and Fred i'd definitely have taken that option, i might actually have finished it! As it is it's quarter to three (yes am) but the chosen drink here is chocolate milk :)

Thinking of all the hard work that we put in to make the good things happen so just to share all these photos of Ginger and Hermes Pan rehearsing :)

Ah all better now, and they've changed sides!

I actually have no idea in which order these photos were taken but they've amused me none the less ;)

so i was taking a break from finishing an assignment and looking for new pictures of Ginger and Fred together (i did find a couple!!) when i found this photo of Ginger i hadn't seen before, what i can't place and the website was no use was when or where it was taken, its gotta be 1930s at a guess 1935 onward but someone else may have seen it before! (hangs head in shame)

Until i find out how people put music on their blogs aome of the recordings are on youtube, as i can't work out how to put pictures over videos it is literally just the record being played!

This is possibly how exhilerated i feel right now, being the proud owner of a lovely new record player! the blessed item has a usb port so i should hopefully be able to transfer lots of lovely recordings to the computer then will come the harder part, if i can't find a way of sharing them on here hopefully youtube will allow me to upload them, really nice hearing the tracks the way that they were originally heard all those years ago!! (scratchings all and ;))

Happy Endings

Just been to the movies to watch Friends with Benefits and it got me thinking about happy endings and i do think this is one of the best, good old fashioned charm and being one of only two people in the world :)

Big event on friday my "baby" started big school, she'll be 5 on the 27th September so a proper big girl now :(

After nerves and hesitation and yes a few excuses (i don't blog i only comment on everyone elses!) i've finally got round to creating my own blog :-)

I'm hoping to share photos, snippits of information and if i ever get round to buying a record player (i'd probably have to stop travelling first!) some fabulous original recordings
