Hurricane Isaac

Hope if any of you live in the path of Isaac that you're all safe, the views on the breakfast news looked pretty wild over here, although 21st century Europe seems to be rediscovering ww2 bombs all over the place..

  1. ...no problems in the 'Ham... just a mild breeze and bands of rain every few hours... but yes, NOLA is getting deluged...hopefully the levees hang on this time... AND hopefully everyone has evacuated...but there's always some who stay...I guess a lot cannot get out...easily, anyway... sad. But I think it will be ok down there.

YOU don't go dancing thru an abandoned mine field!!! oof... that could ruin your day, eh?

    KIG!

  2. Wouldn't quite be the same as dancing around firecrackers a la Holiday Inn ;)

I sincerely hope any people living in the affected areas are safe and made the right decisions

  3. ...looks like everything made it thru pretty fair... read somewhere that at some point during landfall, the storm surge actually 'stopped' the flow of the Mississippi River! That's a pretty stout feat!
Hopefully that will be the extent of hurricane season...there's a few more storms out there now, but they are not heading toward the U.S... hope they don't reach the U.K.!

I hope to get some stuff rolling in a day or two - we have Monday off for Labor Day, so hopefully can 'catch up' a bit... I'm taking two test on Sept. 8th, tho, so, really doing a bit of studying for them...ironically, one of them deals with coastal construction, and how to 'minimize' failure in a hurricane event...

    KIG, Kat!!!
